1998 P (Philly) Half Dollar - value?

Today I was at the local credit union, asked for Ikes and half dollars. They didn't have any Ikes but they did have 4 halves.

Three were common, one was a 1998 P in AU (I guess) condition.

Is this "common" or does it have value?

I thought maybe you knew something I didn't so I looked it up in the 2010 redbook and surprise, it's a common half, worth 50 cents. Was there something special about it that made you think it was uncommon?

I dunno, I thought I remembered that anything after 1984 was somehow more rare. Maybe that is just the Ikes after a certain year?

In any case, thanks for looking it up for me and answering my question.

After '01 I believe they stopped minting them for circulation, and are now only available direct from the mint in 2-roll sets or bags. I picked up a couple rolls of '09's just because.
